Good News Sunday: Texas dog wins National Hero Award for saving owner

In Texas, a dog whose name is Bear adopted by Debbie Zeisler of Millsap has been honored with the 30th National Hero Award from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Los Angeles. Recently at a ceremony held at the Nokia Plaza in downtown Los Angeles, Bear who is a 5 year old Shiloh German Shepherd was presented the award for saving his owner during a seizure.

In the Manatee County, some employees are using their lunch breaks to help the animals who should have a better chance of getting adopted. Bonnie Sietman and several others working near the downtown branch of Animal Services stop in, grab a leash and starts pounding the pavement with a pup which needs to be adopted.

Dog Survives Three Weeks Adrift at Sea After Losing His Owner

Nathan Moody, volunteer with BASRA found a dog named Dingo at sea in abandoned boat. The Atlantic Animal Hospital in Wilmington is caring for Dingo. Dingo was badly dehydrated and malnourished. His owner, John William Batchelor, 72 was suspected to be dead. But Nathan Moody and Dingo were both attacked by wild dogs at his home in the Bahamas a few weeks ago. Thus Dingo is suffering from leg injury and is being treated at US. Nathan Moody is in process of reuniting with Dingo.
